New Hofner Icon bass bridge. The pearloid is in very good condition. Frets show very little play wear. Including the volume and tone controls and the switches work very well. This hollow body bass has a 30-inch scale neck and nice low action(approx ¼” at the 12 th fret) It is an easy playing bass.
Super thumpy, and the tone you'd expect. The pickups and the controls look like they could have been lifted right from a 60's Hofner! This is a great little bass. Much cooler than an Icon or other(newer) imported Beatle Bass.

It was advertised as a Vintage Hofner Archtop Acoustic Guitar All Original Plays Well This guitar is not marked with a model or serial number. I have done some research and think its a 1960-62 President (or 457) with 510 Diamond pickups. Been trying (and failing) to find any sort of marking identifying this old Hofner guitar I bought a while ago. The bridge is ebonized maple with a bone saddle. The fret board is rosewood with pearl dots. The body and neck are maple. My best guess is that it is a model 450. It would date to around 1963.
All of the screws are slot heads. The pick guard is mottled MOP celluloid. The hardware is nickel plated.
Sides 3 1/8" Sound is very subjective. Nut 1 7/16" String Spacing. Body 20 1/4" Scale Length 25 1/2" String Spacing.
It resonates well sustains well. Most archtop acoustics don't have much sustain, but this one is an exception. More attack that projects well, particlarly when flatpicking.
It has been stable over the 18 years that I have owned it. It looks like the heel extention had seperated from the neck and was glued back, and the finish was not repaired. The neck has a repaired separation at the heel extension. Some finish has peel off the back of the peg head.
Email me with your questions. The tuners work well, no cracks in the plastic buttons, and hold the strings in tune. The neck is straight, the truss rod is functional, and it plays very well with medium strings and low action. The frets look good with no noticable wear. There are minor nicks and scratches throughout the finish.
I purchased it from an estate sale where I was told it sat inside a case under a bed for most of its life. Its in very nice condition, as I've tried to document to the best of my abilities in the photos. I simply have not seen another one of these available online.
Go ahead and grab this awesome and rare piece of history, how often can you say you have a 50 year old guitar. More tone wheel is tough to turn, so it probably needs some WD-40 or similar to loosen it up. Also, the second pickup's.
